Many, if not most artists, once they achieve a bit of financial success, stop taking artistic risks. After years of living at the poverty level, and once they achieve a little success, they find themselves with a mortgage, kids in school, and a lifestyle to maintain. All well and good, but not conducive to creative risk taking. Which is a reason to celebrate the whacky creative impulses of a band who has recently achieved some financial success and chooses to make creative decisions that confound expectations.
